Did you think we forgot??

With all this bridal shower talk, you might think us girls forgot about the bachelorette party.  Well, I can assure you, this has not been forgotten!!

Katie, the bride, wanted to do wine tasting and decided that Santa Barbara would be the perfect place (which I, personally, was very excited about!!).  We have rented a house near State Street and in less than 2 weeks, we will be in serious celebration mode!!!

The last time Katie and I went wine tasting together was for her 25th birthday.  We had an absolute BLAST, so I can only imagine what her bachelorette party will be….

There are some surprises in store for the bride-to-be, so stay tuned for lots of pictures after the weekend of debauchery has concluded.

Kisses!  xox

Getting ready for Saturday!!

The long awaited bridal shower for Katie is this Saturday!!!

The maid-of-honor, the bridesmaids, and I have been hard at work to ensure every detail is worked on, and we can’t wait to have Katie and her guests arrive to see everything!!  Because the bride reads my posts, this one is going to be pretty short.  There will be details and lots of pictures posted after the shower, but until then, enjoy this adorable picture of the bride and groom….

Ho-Ho-Holiday Party Teaser

Sneak peak....

Even though I totally have the bridal shower for my bestie on my mind, I wanted to share a little teaser for my company’s annual holiday party.

Last year, there were a lot of blues and silvers to create a Winter Wonderland, but this year….I see candy canes!!

There will be reds, whites, and some unexpected black!  If you could see the images in my head, all you could possibly say is FABULOUS!!

Move your body, ooo baby, and dance all night!

My favorite song (by far) to get almost any party started is Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give it Up.”  It’s just one of those songs that you can’t help but get up and dance to!  Shake what your mama gave you, party people!

Seriously…play it.  Works every time!!

“Got to Give it Up”
by Marvin Gaye

I used to go out to parties and stand around
'Cause I was too nervous to really get down
But my body yearned to be free
I got up on the floor, boy
So somebody could choose me

No more standin' there beside the walls
Finally got myself together, baby
And I'm havin' a ball

Long as you're groovin'
There's always a chance
Somebody watchin' might wanna make romance

Move your body, ooo baby,
And dance all night
To that groove and feel alright

Everybody's groovin' on like a fool
But if you see me, spread out and let me in
Baby, just party high and low
Let me step into your erotic zone

Move it up, turn it ‘round
Ooo, shake it down

OOWWWW

You can love me when you want to, babe
This is such a groovy party, baby
We're here face to face
Everybody's swingin'
This is such a groovy place

All the young ladies are so fine!

You're movin’ your body easy with no doubts
I know what you thinkin', baby
You want to turn me out
I think I'm gonna let you do it, babe

Keep on dancin'
You got to get it
Got to give it up

Telling the world…

Trying to find the perfect way to announce you are pregnant is a lot of pressure… It is such huge and amazing news, you feel like you have to announce it in a huge and amazing way!

It was about 2 years ago when I did my big announcement.  My parents were told by my husband (Mike) and I coming over to give them a gift for “babysitting our dogs.”  What they really got were two pairs of baby socks that read, “I love Grandpa” and “I love Grandma.”  It took about 2 seconds for my mom to figure out what was going on, and my dad about 4… There were immediate tears, screams, and hugging all around.

Some of my closest friends were told at my birthday dinner.  It was hard for me for two reasons: 1) Mike didn’t want to tell them until dessert, and 2) He wanted to be in charge of the “announcement!”  There ended up being a cake brought out with “Happy Birthday Mommy-to-Be!” written on it.  Our friends were all thrilled by the news, but I think they might have had an idea…”mommy-to-be” hadn’t ordered any wine that night…

Now that my parents, brother, and friends had all been told, I was ready to declare the news to the rest of the world!  I used the Picnik website to create the image below (the picture was actually taken on 4th of July!), and it was super easy to do!  They walk you through the whole process, and although there are templates you can pay for, the one I used was free of charge.

I guess the moral of this story is, there are a million ways you can announce your most electrifying news to the world.  Just have fun with it!!!

How should I tell the world about my future baby 2??
